IED Detection Backpack saving lives in the battlefield

The client needed a durable and lightweight case to protect an IED detection device that would be worn as a backpack by troops in the field. The device was sensitive and needed to be protected from damage during shipment and to be stored easily when not used. The cases also needed to be rugged enough to withstand the harsh conditions of the battlefield.
The client’s unit was designed to save lives as an IED detector. If the unit was to be damaged in shipment or was difficult to assemble in the field, it could be a contributing factor of severe injury or loss of life.
Solution
We were able to design and safely fit the client’s device in a custom color Pelican-Hardigg Roto-Mold case. The case was made of a high-impact plastic and was designed to withstand and protect against extreme temperatures, dust and moisture. We fabricated a custom made foam insert to perfectly fit the device. The case was also marked with durable custom stenciling that identified the device and its purpose.
Outcome
The case was successfully designed and built. The device was safely transported and used in the field, and the case protected the device from damage. The client was very happy with the results and has since ordered additional cases from us.
